You know this is an interesting thing, highlighting China. Considering the population size, there's surely a sizable chunk of gay men interacting in the larger cities. Yet we're not hearing about a raging AIDS epidemic over there, especially considering the apparent lack of update for PrEP. I get that China isn't exactly an open book, but still. Given that we know that the 'HIV' antibody tests react in a stratified way according to racial groups, with Asians in general being the least likely to test positive, it's possible that what we're seeing with the lack of PrEP uptake is that guys don't see a need for PrEP because 'HIV disease' isn't something they're living with in the aggregate.

I wondered the same thing about the demographics.

Have you noticed how over the years the terminology in HIV/AIDS research has shifted from "gay men" to "MSM" (men who have sex with men)? "Gay men" connotes men who are both sexually and romantically attracted to men, including the potential for emotional intimacy and committed relationships. "MSM" is cold, clinical, soulless. It's as if pharma/researchers/public health practitioners are saying, "Go ahead and have all the casual and anonymous sex you want and we'll offer you lots of pills and shots to keep you safe." So creepy and dehumanizing...

I’m sure the dehumanizing aspect is intentional. Anything even adjacent to normal human relations is being destroyed before our eyes. I don’t think it’s an accident.

I've watched your conversation/interview with Eric Coppolino.

It was very cool!😎

I'm curious, did you two talk yesterday 15th or other day?

Sometimes I think we give them too much credit with their gaslighting powers.

This con has worked out so well for forty years because it covers all the bases:

- a scientific and legitimate reason for conservatives to hate some people and keep away from them (not only homosexuals, also all addicts and any person in the proximity of them)

- a huge financial house of cards for progressive-fascists to play around

- tons of cases for lawyers, and newly created crimes and misdemeanors

- a pity cause for progressive-leftists to emotionally exploit people and deploy a humongous influence on culture

- intellectuals have had a bone to gnaw on for 40 years

- many religious professionals, mostly on the left these days, also exploit economically and spiritually the authorized victims of this con, and they can always claim ignorance

- the "patients" can get money in some cases to compensate for loss of work or other things

- the media, including the textbook industry and all entertainment, now exists with the only purpose of promoting pharmaceutical products, reaping great profits

I argue that this con would have been over within months of its inception if not for the generalized bribery of people.

Pretty much the same as convid19.

A well known phrase attributed to Stalin: "When we hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope we use"

To conclude: the gaslighting seems to work best when there is enough prep work done on the targets.

Yes to all of it. Don’t forget Africans and Black Americans. They’re considered “at risk” too. The racism and homophobia is so obvious.

The con would have been over within months had Gallo accurately represented the results of his papers at the press conference. Reading the transcript, the fact that fewer than half of his AIDS patients had any hint of HIV related genetic material was conveniently not mentioned; instead he claimed great success because 80-90% had antibodies. This whole thing really was based on a huge misrepresentation of data.

That old movie "The Sting" is also based on a misrepresentation of data, and people love it. Maybe it's because of Paul Newman and Eileen Brennan. Maybe people love watching pros doing their very best.

I haven’t seen that film. Eileen Brennan played Mrs. Peacock in Clue the movie (based on the game). That movie is such a guilty pleasure for me. It’s just so quotable.

I love Clue so much. Actors running all over the place. It's the Mount Everest of film editing.

Christopher Lloyd does such a convincing psychopath psychiatrist.

The Sting is set during the Great Depression. Two swindlers team up to organize a huge revenge fraud involving falsificated horse races data to catch a gangster who likes to gamble. The gangster is George Shaw, the captain of the boat in Jaws. Another great actor. One of the best movies from that era, in my opinion.

I love how he says he works for UNO WHO. Every performance in that film was next level. My stepdaughter and I regularly quote Clue lines to one another because we’re weird. “This is war, Peacock! Casualties are inevitable, You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs, any cook will tell you that!” “But look what happened to the cook!” I could go on. And Madeline Kahn. Need I say more?

I’ll check out The Sting. We’re not really a movie family, but sometimes I watch films by myself.

The Sting is probably for ages >16, or >23 in some families.
