It’s been twenty years since I left the land of hockey, Tim Horton’s, and incredible (but far too cold) majestic natural beauty for the United States, but I will always hold a place in my heart for the land in which I grew up. (I wasn’t born there; my situation was somewhat unusual as I have held three different citizenships in my life, none of which correspond to my country of birth.)
Thank you for evoking the late great Gordon Lightfoot! I, too, have been a huge fan of him ever since a college friend of mine here in California introduced me to his magnificent songs back in 1969. Sad that he left this life last year, and though I hate to say it, I can't help but wonder if he got the jab.....
