Have they perhaps figured out a way to overcharge for it? I mean, it's been off patent for decades now.

The $2.95 USD packets used in some poor countries to combat "Covid" -- specifically Uttar Pradesh province in India comes to mind -- contained (1) iverrnectin, (2) doxycycline, and (3) zinc. When used in Uttar Pradesh, the deaths in Uttar Pradesh dropped to almost nothing.

I have a friend who has really bad acne and takes docycycline long-term to keep it under control. He's aware of the teeth problem, but if he doesn't his acne really is disfiguring and uncomfortable.
My mom took tetracycline when she was pregnant with me and, coupled with being British lol (my parents were immigrants to Canada), it’s a recipe for dental problems. I can only imagine what long term intake does to people. Of course, Truvada also makes your teeth fall out but for different reasons.

We tend to think about antibiotics having deleterious effect on the guy microbiome, but their indiscriminate use can also cause systemic problems via their inhibition and damage to mitochondria. You damage mitochondria and you increase reactive oxygen species, that is, oxidative stress. History is starting to repeat itself. This is what the Perth Group's primary theory is about, classical AIDS was a system imbalance in the body's energy producing systems via a redox balance, skewed towards oxidation away from reduction.

Chlamydia really shouldn't be considered an STI - yes, it is sexually transmitted, but it's just part of the bacterial background. A test for it wasn't invented until 1978, and it only became an STI when the CDC sent out a national surveillance order for it in 1984. You can go back to pre 1970's textbooks about venereal disease and you will see nothing about chlamydia. The claim it causes reproductive tract problems in women is unsubstantiated and used to justify its control. It really just behaves like NGU, which is a urinary tract infection - trauma from having sex causes the bacteria to bloom as an opportunist. I think what really happened is the CDC decided to push relatively benign chlamydia testing in the mid 1980's as a surrogate marker for surveilling sexual trends and pushing condom use among heterosexuals as part of their population control mission.
