Bug chasing is a real fetish in some quarters of the gay community. It's a bizarre thing, but out there it is. It's some odd psychological reaction to the pressure and stress the entire paradigm has put on people and it's how some people react. So I'm inclined to think the story is probably real.
I’ve heard of this, and I wonder if this is an extreme version of the Stockholm Syndrome I see among many gay men around the topic of “HIV.” “Getting infected” is like a baptism and the drugs and medical appointments and tests are all sacraments. I can actually kind of understand the psychology here… am I close to the truth? It all seems so religious.
Oh and also people tend to want what they're forbidden. I still think this is a stress reaction to constantly being told you're going to die if you get the bad thing. What I can't understand is why would people chose this over just giving up the entire idea of the bad thing as being a real thing?
I've wondered if it has something to do with status. Gay men who are 'poz' are given a special kind of label and status in the LGBT community, almost a kind of sainthood. It's like a kind of 'elite' tribe or community within a community, and in some way they gain access to this. Imagine you're a person who never feels like they quite belong to the larger community, this is a way of gaining special status that you're guaranteed to belong to for life. For sure the Stockholm Syndrome is an aspect of this. In my religious background, there were the most righteous of the religious folks who were given special veneration and privileges, allowed access to the church's temples and special rights and rituals.
Yuck, what a creepy video. Could be real or could be completely faked to shock and grab attention. Seems to be designed to send some messages, including:
--HIV tests and viral load tests are reliable and give accurate results
--HIV is such a life threatening diagnosis that any risk of contracting or transmitting it must be taken very seriously
--Never deceive your sex partner about your HIV status
--Go ahead and have as much casual and anonymous sex as you want with any partner you like, but always worry about getting infected with HIV
--Be sure to go on PrEP if you can (the speaker couldn't due to incompatibility with other meds he was on)
--Going on PrEP is a much more acceptable way to avoid getting HIV than bug chasing
--Know that if you contract HIV there is treatment for you
--Don't take advantage of the NHS or waste its resources capriciously
--Covering your face with an animal mask (a common sexual fetish) is a perfectly normal way to hide your identity during a filmed interview
Then there's the message you have highlighted, which I'm sure was either unintentional or known to not sink in with our heavily brainwashed population, namely
--HIV (even if you believe it's harmful) is so hard to transmit that you can have all the sex you want with many different HIV positive people and even have their blood injected in you and unless you keep at it for at least 10 years, you'll still not become infected.......
All of these points are great but I keep going back to the fetish mask. Why does this “ethical gifter” also have to be, apparently, a FURRY?
Also, have you noticed that “HIV” is simultaneously a “chronic manageable condition” yet it’s still terrifying to many people to the extent that in some cases, positivity is criminalized? Make it make sense.
Yes, it makes no sense but is a typical psy-op strategy--make you afraid of the alleged pathogen and then reassure you that we'll take care of you if you catch it, maybe even get you down to "undetectable" levels. End goal: get as many people as possible to test frequently and be retained in care....

Weird
Almost too weird to believe. Almost.

What does "retained in care" mean? Is this a legal term or a medical term?
It basically means staying on the prescription drug or periodic injection that they want to give you forever…
