When something was nowhere and is now suddenly everywhere, you have to ask yourself: Why?
Here are a couple of new videos aggressively promoting PrEP. First we have someone who calls himself “Dr. David” and says “I’m your HIV doctor.” (He’s retained in care, himself.) “I didn’t have the benefit of those biomedical advances back in 2007. Do I wish I had? Absolutely. Am I still living my best life? Absolutely.”
(Actually, and this is a serious question, doesn’t it seem strange that it took as long as it did for PrEP to go mainstream? The drugs they are using have been around longer than PrEP itself. Is it an act of desperation now that the prospect of a “vaccine for HIV” is growing dimmer by the day?)
He then ends the video by warning the viewer to not “let anyone convince you not to take PrEP if you feel you need it.” Maybe this website needs a trigger warning.
Then we have this video featuring a doctor telling us how PrEP “empowers” women and compares it to hormonal birth control, about which there are plenty of questions in terms of the long range effect on health. “It’s giving people power back.”
Did you notice the comments are turned off on the second video? What do you think of these videos? Are they even worse than the TV ads for PrEP?

I checked out 'Dr David's' video. No comments had been made (apparently)!
I made mine... 'Dont take the bait' and said 'chimera' etc....
On posting "1 comment" was displayed, but my message was not visible.
5mins later this appeared on my screen (not had one of these before)...
