“Anti-HIV” drugs are not specific to “HIV”—they’re now being promoted for Alzheimer’s

Well, I’ve managed to come across exhibit n+1 in our list of pieces of evidence that “anti-HIV” drugs are not specific to “HIV.” Apparently, NRTIs help with Alzheimer’s.

Summary: New research shows that HIV drugs called NRTIs may significantly reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Analyzing two large health databases, scientists found that patients on NRTIs had a 6% to 13% annual decrease in Alzheimer’s risk.

Unlike other HIV drugs, NRTIs block inflammasomes, immune system components implicated in Alzheimer’s development. The researchers now call for clinical trials to test NRTIs — and a new, safer drug called K9 — to determine their potential in preventing Alzheimer’s as cases continue to rise globally.

What are “inflammasones?” you may ask. Well, they are “cytosolic protein complexes that play a crucial role in the innate immune system, triggering inflammation and cell death in response to various stimuli.” So once again, we are back to inflammation, which is more like auto-immunity than immune degeneration—it is clear that these drugs are doing something in some cases, but it sure isn’t what we’re told it is. There is no such thing as a “reverse transcriptase inhibitor;” they’re all DNA chain terminators, which means they kill all living cells.

This next part is quite interesting. Emphasis is mine.

The researchers note that patients taking other types of HIV medications did not show the same reduction in Alzheimer’s risk as those on NRTIs. Based on that, they say that NRTIs warrant clinical testing to determine their ability to ward off Alzheimer’s.

If successful, the benefits could be tremendous, as Alzheimer’s rates are climbing dramatically. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s today, but that number is expected to climb to 13 million by 2050.

Is anyone else getting the idea that this is all a giant money grab? Compare the numbers. There are estimated to be 1.1 million “HIV” positive Americans, as well as 1.1 million that “could benefit from” PrEP, for a grand total of 2.2 million Americans taking “anti-HIV” drugs specifically to treat or prevent “HIV.” However, this is quite a small customer patient pool when you compare it with Alzheimer’s patients at around ten million. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving.

Might I be forgiven for thinking that a large part of this is about the money? And how convenient to have a patient pool that is unlikely to complain about adverse effects at the same level as some other patients. Color me cynical. Regardless, the idea that these drugs are specific to “HIV” and are in any way, shape or form responsible for “ending AIDS” is provably ridiculous. On top of their manifest toxicities, their nonspecificity provides yet more evidence that “HIV” is nothing more than a red herring in the puzzle of AIDS.
