I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here in East Texas it is cold and rainy and I’ve recently rediscovered an absolute gem of a song I’d like to share with you tonight, which has been providing me some (figurative) warmth. I don’t know how to describe it other than to say it is life-affirming.
Please feel free to share in the comments what has been bringing you joy lately, whether it be a song, a piece of literature, a film—anything really. I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.
Correction from my last post: “This Too Shall Pass” isn’t just about George W, though he is mentioned in the song. It’s about that feeling you get “When the sun comes up and kicks you in the ass”. Like 11/06/24.
Love the song and the album it’s from: “Fate’s Right Hand”. Rodney’s very best. Provided solace and resonance in 2003 — a turning point year of suffering that’s part of my 38 year HIV/AIDS Story. Last song: This Too Will Pass. About George W. Who now looks good in comparison. Will need this song in constant head rotation for next 4 years. PS I also love the music of Rodney’s ex-wife, Rosanne Cash. Find lots of resonance there too.
