Very quick hit post for today, but I thought this was intriguing.
Cabotegravir PrEP implant might prevent HIV for a year
We’ve heard about cabotegravir before, but I believe it was meant to be admitted every other month. Now we have a ONCE YEARLY injectable cabotegravir? How is this going to work?
From the piece: “Based on these findings in mice, the researchers suggested that the ultra-long-acting implant could ‘potentially revolutionize current HIV PrEP and help curb the global HIV epidemic.’” What dosages are being given here?
Based on the findings IN MICE? What do we think of this? How safe can a yearly injectable possibly be? Let me know in the comments.
Doesn't sound at all safe to me. But heck, as long as it sells..... ka-ching!
If GP120 and GP45 on SARS1 are tweeked does this achieve the same result ?
